Headed up to the Metolius River for an early pre-snow December outing with Scott Cook from Fly and Field Outfitters and his folks.   We all hooked up on some fish which was great, but Scott got the prize of a big Bull Trout!  As always the Metolius provided another day of beauty and fun.

The folks at Fly & Field Outfitters here in Bend invited me to the Grindstone Lakes in Central Oregon.  Grindstone Lakes is a private series of lakes on the famous G.I. Ranch that holds some amazing trophy sized rainbow trout.  While on the trip I met Russell Scott who manages the Grindstone and also Lake in the Dunes, which he invited me to come and photograph.  Not only is Lake in the Dunes

Another beautiful day in Central Oregon on the Deschutes River.  I had the privilege to float the lower section from Warm Springs to Trout Creek with some of the crew from Fly & Field Outfitters here in Bend, Oregon.   Scott, Kevin and his dad Bob and myself all had a blast, and toughly enjoined every moment from put-in to take-out.  I'm sure if we were skunked we still would have had an epic day

A benefit for Madhappy Lounge at the Century Center in Bend, Oregon.  I thought it would be fun to bring my camera to the benefit for the Madhappy Lounge and shoot some candid shots, considering many of the performers are from Portland (where I lived till two weeks ago), and I have shot them many times in the past.  The event was great! The (world famous) Salmonfly hatch on the Deschutes River.  If you're wondering why there are no fish shots, it's hard to hold a fish and a camera at the same time.  Believe me they were huge and killed my flies!

The only constant is change, and here's a big one!  I just moved the operation to the central Oregon town of Bend, known for its beauty and outdoor activities.  I'll still be heavily involved in shooting in Portland and everywhere else just as before, except tanner. Zion I & the Grouch come together for their second album release as "Heroes in the Healing of the Nation" I was tapped to produce some possible album images, here's two of the shots that were ultimately used in the final layout.  What an honor!  It's so cool to see your photography on an LP cover!  Now it's on the wall!The album was released on the 22nd of March 2011 and instantly made it to #9

DJ Shadow brings his "Shadowsphere" to Portland's Roseland Theater.  What's the Shadowsphere?  Well it's a giant white orb that has DJ Shadow on the inside making great music, but on the outside it is lit up with multiple projectors projecting scenes to the music onto the orb.  Also there were two great performances one by Portland's own DJ WICKED, and another great from the Quannum crew Pigeon

Did a little weekend trip searching for the Winter Steelhead over the holiday with my friend Jerome.  He was excited to use his new Galvan Reel on his spey rod.  First we hit the Sandy River then East to the Hood River.  The next day we packed up the poles and bikes to hit up the Deschutes River.  It was so cold out there, I was in my down jacket the whole time.   Got to get back out there

I just got a new Galvin fly reel for my big 30th birthday, I took it out today for a test drive on the Clackamas River.There were some kayaking going on too, which took me back to my photographic roots with Rapid Shooters, now Hotshot Imaging in Coloma, California.
